Freetown, Sierra Leone – The United States Embassy in Freetown has announced the launch of a new website dedicated to visa appointment scheduling, signaling a shift to a more streamlined service for visa applicants.
In a recent statement, the Embassy advised those seeking to schedule a visa appointment to visit the new website, www.usvisaappt.com.
The Embassy also confirmed that the previous platform, ustraveldocs.com, is being retired and will no longer support appointment scheduling.
“If you had an appointment scheduled on the previous website, your appointment remains on the original date you selected,” the Embassy stated. “You will receive an automatic communication to the email address you registered on the previous website from the new website. You do not need to contact us; your instructions to set up your account will be sent directly to your registered email address.”
This change is part of the Embassy’s broader efforts to modernize the visa application process and improve service delivery for Sierra Leonean citizens and other residents.
According to the Embassy, the new platform is expected to enhance efficiency and provide a more user-friendly experience for all applicants.
The Embassy encourages all visa applicants to familiarize themselves with the new system to ensure a smooth transition.
