The Commissioner General- Ibrahim Brima Swaray has on behalf of the National Revenue Authority today Wednesday 20th September 2023 signed a contract with Lurubasa Investment for the construction of an administrative and commercial complex for the National Revenue Authority at Wilkinson Road in Freetown.
According to the contract, the administrative building will consist of eight floors fitted with basements, canteens, car parks, roof garden, relaxation and daycare centers for staff of the institution. The eight floors will accommodate support departments like the HR, Legal and Corporate Services, Finance and Budgets, Information Technology (IT), Monitoring Research and Planning, Modernization, Internal Controls and Audits and the Commissioner General’s office. The commercial building will on the other hand accommodate offices for the operational departments (Domestic Tax, Non-Tax Revenue and Customs Service Department) and other recreational facilities for the NRA.
The project is expected to run for twenty four months as at the date of signing the contract by the two parties.
Over the years, the Institution has been plagued with acute accommodation challenges leaving Board and Management with no option but to explore accommodation opportunities all over the place. Swarray said that over the years, huge resources have been invested on accommodation within the institution. With the construction of this complex, the problem is expected to solved once and for all.
