Port Loko — Police personnel attached to the Maforki Checkpoint, Port Loko Division, intercepted a vehicle during a routine checkpoint operation on Sunday, 20 September 2026.
The vehicle, with registration number AXR 027, was being driven by Mohamed Lamin Kamara, a resident of Rokupr. During a search of the vehicle, police officers discovered 170 tablets of suspected Tapentadol/Tramadol, each purportedly 250 mg, alongside eight plastic sachets containing a substance suspected to be Kush.
Subsequently, the police arrested Alhajie Lamin Kamara in connection with the seized substances.
The circumstances surrounding the seizure and the roles of the individuals involved are currently under police investigation.
