Freetown, Sierra Leone – Prominent businessman and philanthropist Mohamed Gento Kamara has strongly denied allegations linking him to convicted Dutch drug kingpin Jos Leijdekkers, also known as ‘Bolle Jos’.
Kamara dismissed the claims as baseless, emphasizing that he has never met Leijdekkers and has no connections to any criminal activities.
The controversy began when an image from “KOMON-TOK NEWS” circulated on social media, falsely suggesting that the Dutch drug trafficker had financed Kamara’s seaport project. The misleading collage, which included generic port images and unrelated figures, sparked online speculation about Kamara’s financial dealings.
In response, Kamara issued a firm statement, warning that legal action would be taken against anyone attempting to damage his reputation with false accusations.
“Anyone trying to link me to such baseless claims will face legal consequences,” he stated, calling for an end to defamatory attacks against innocent Sierra Leoneans.
Kamara, a highly respected entrepreneur, is the founder of the Gento Group of Companies, a leading road construction firm with multimillion-dollar assets. Beyond his business ventures, he has been a driving force in philanthropy, empowering over 3,000 young people and women through various initiatives while supporting numerous charitable organizations.
Born and raised in Freetown, Kamara has maintained a deep commitment to his homeland. Following an appeal from former President Ahmed Tejan Kabbah, he returned to Sierra Leone to contribute to the nation’s economic recovery and mentor young people seeking a better future.
As the controversy unfolds, Kamara remains focused on his work, reaffirming his dedication to ethical business practices and community development.
“The price of success is hard work, dedication, and integrity,” he said, vowing to continue making a positive impact in Sierra Leone.
