Freetown, July 22, 2025 — Tragedy struck at the Mabela Fishing Company in Freetown on Monday following a deadly gas explosion aboard a fishing vessel.
The incident left one person dead and several others severely injured, according to eyewitness accounts and emergency responders.
The explosion, which occurred during the early hours of operations at the busy fishing wharf, sent shockwaves through the local community.
Victims were quickly evacuated and rushed to nearby hospitals for urgent medical treatment.
