Bo, Sierra Leone – Bhantal Football Club’s hopes of advancing in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup suffered a heavy blow after a 3-0 home defeat to Guinea’s Hafia Football Club at the Southern Arena.
The visitors seized control early, breaking the deadlock in the 30th minute when Salifou Camara converted a pinpoint cross from Alhassane Camara.
Despite spirited efforts from Bhantal in the second half, the Guinean side maintained their dominance, adding two more goals to seal a commanding victory.
Bhantal struggled to contain Hafia’s fluid attack, with missed chances compounding their frustrations before the final whistle.
The loss leaves the Sierra Leonean club with an uphill task in the return leg if they are to keep their continental ambitions alive.
Fans will now look to the away fixture for a dramatic turnaround, though the deficit places Bhantal FC in a precarious position in the qualifier.
