Abdul Kargbo, APC Leader in Parliament, confirmed the developments, stating: “The remains of our beloved Chairman have now been taken to the mortuary, while arrangements are underway to convey his body to Sierra Leone for a dignified burial.” He described the loss as a “painful moment” for the APC family and the entire nation.

Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray was a prominent Sierra Leonean politician, businessman, and longtime APC member. Born in Tonkolili District, he built a career in the insurance sector, serving as an executive at the Sierra Leone National Insurance Company before entering full-time politics.
His political journey included key ministerial roles under former President Ernest Bai Koroma. He served as Minister of Labour (2007–2010) and later as Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources. In 2012, he was elected deputy leader of the APC, and he rose to become National Chairman in 2023, defeating other contenders decisively.
