Honourable Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Defence – Colonel (Retired) MB Massaquoi, ONS Coordinator – Mr Abdulai Caulker, Commander Joint Force and Acting Chief of Defence Staff – Major General D Alpha with other Senior RSLAF Senior Officers visited Head Quarters Joint Force Command at Cockerill Barracks and Head Quarters 3 Infantry Brigade Murray Town Barracks on Tuesday 3rd September 2024.
The Purpose of the visit was to ascertain the level of preparedness of RSLAF troops, engaged with Senior Officers and to physically see Officers, Men and Women of the Quick Reaction Force (QRF). He appreciated troops visited very much for been able to muster on a quick notice for his visit.
The Honourable Vice President also thanked RSLAF troops for their hard work over the period under extreme difficult circumstances and that his visit was an indication of the commitment of His Excellency the President and Commander-in-Chief of the RSLAF, Brigadier General (Retired) Dr Julius Maada Bio and his Government’s willingness to continue their support to the RSLAF.
He furthered promised troops of improved Conditions of Service and Force multipliers, so that Soldiers can effectively perform their duties. He also inspected the QRF operational vehicles and the ongoing accommodation construction site for the QRF.
Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh encouraged troops to be loyal and professional as always demonstrated and should continue defending the Government, Country and the Citizens of Sierra Leone during the execution of their missions and tasks.
He was also highly satisfied in seeing the level of preparedness of troops and assured them that there is currently discussion on how to improve on their welfare.
He continued his visit to the Operational Security Division (OSD) Headquarters of the Sierra Leone Police.
Furthermore, the Honourable Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone continued his visit on Wednesday 4th September 2024 to the National Electoral Commission Warehouse at Wellington, where 3 Infantry Brigade QRF also deploys RSLAF troops to protect the NEC facility. He also visited RSLAF deployment at Hastings Airfield, OSD Administrative Office at Jui and finally ended his tour at the Sierra Leone Correctional Pre-Trial Detention Center at Kissy Town, Waterloo.
