Bo, Sierra Leone – Two individuals are in police custody following a drug trafficking bust at the Bo Fallah Checkpoint on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
Law enforcement officers intercepted the suspects during a routine inspection, uncovering a significant quantity of illegal substances.
The first suspect, Muminy Bah, a passenger from 4 Mile, Waterloo, was found carrying a substantial amount of Tramadol, a controlled pharmaceutical drug often abused for its stimulant effects. In a separate discovery, police detained Edward Koroma, a driver from 47 White House, Grafton, Freetown, after finding a large quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Cannabis Sativa in his possession.
Both men were immediately arrested and, along with the confiscated drugs, transferred to the Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) at the Regional Police Headquarters South in Bo.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing to determine the full scope of their involvement in drug trafficking.
The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) reiterated their commitment to clamping down on drug-related crimes, urging the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
