The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Appeals Committee has ruled that the 2023/2024 FA Cup final between Bo Rangers and East End Lions will be replayed, following a joint appeal from both teams.
The original match, held on May 3, 2024, was abandoned, prompting the clubs to seek a fair resolution. After reviewing the case, the committee decided to schedule a replay to uphold the principles of fairness and integrity in the sport.
The replay will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at a neutral venue, the SLFA playing field. To ensure fairness, new match officials will be appointed, and seating arrangements will be made for both sets of supporters.
SLFA emphasized its commitment to ensuring a safe and impartial match.
In addition, the Appeals Committee adjusted the fines issued following the abandoned match. Bo Rangers’ fine has been reduced from NLe 60,000 to NLe 20,000, though individual fines for misconduct remain unchanged.
The SLFA called on both teams to uphold high standards of sportsmanship during the replay and contribute positively to the growth of football in Sierra Leone.
