The Kenema Police Division has arrested six suspected drug dealers in a major crackdown aimed at curbing the spread of illicit substances in the eastern region of Sierra Leone.
The operation, carried out on October 31st and November 3rd, 2025, was led by Chief Superintendent Bob Musa N. Mansaray, Local Unit Commander, with oversight from Assistant Inspector General Francis Brima Meinday. It targeted individuals involved in the sale and distribution of Kush, Tramadol, and Cannabis Sativa.
Those arrested include Fewah Koroma, Josiah Peters, and Prince Musa, among others. Police say the suspects were caught with large quantities of the banned drugs and are now in custody assisting with ongoing investigations.
Chief Superintendent Mansaray confirmed that the arrests form part of a wider law enforcement campaign against narcotics.
“We are determined to rid Kenema of drug dealers and their networks,” he said. “Anyone caught trafficking or selling drugs will face the full force of the law.”
AIG Meinday praised the swift response of the Kenema Police Division, stressing that the arrests send a clear message to offenders. “Drug trafficking and lawlessness will not be tolerated in this region,” he warned.
Police have urged residents to report suspicious activities and cooperate with ongoing efforts to protect young people from the growing influence of drugs.
