In a shocking turn of events, Constable 17533 Joseph Regina Lebbie of the Sierra Leone Police force has been ousted from duty following allegations of assaulting his own mother.
The revelation was made public by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Dr. John Martin Senesie during a press briefing held on Wednesday, February 21st, 2024, at the Police Headquarters in George Street, Freetown.
According to ACP Senesie, Constable Lebbie was summoned by Inspector General of Police William Fayia Sellu for questioning regarding the disturbing incident. However, Lebbie remained tight-lipped, expressing his willingness to accept any repercussions determined by the authorities.
Further divulging the details, ACP Senesie disclosed that an investigative tribunal was promptly assembled, ultimately finding Constable Lebbie guilty of the egregious act. Consequently, he was swiftly discharged from the force without any accompanying benefits.
This development has raised concerns about the conduct and integrity of law enforcement officers within the Sierra Leone Police force.
