Serious concerns have been raised over the risk of a landside at Hill Side Road upper Mountain cut in Freetown.
In a post shared on social media, Mustapha Dumbuya alias Ezekiel, raised alarm to the relevant authorities about the potential disaster along the Hill Side road.
“I urgently bring to your attention the critical situation developing at the Hill Side Road, where a significant ground cut has occurred following recent construction work by the CSE Road Construction Company,” he stated.
This development poses a severe threat to the safety and well-being of residents living in the houses situated atop the hill.
According to Dumbuya, the stability of the slope has been compromised, creating a potential landslide risk that endangers not only the vehicles or pedestrians but also the lives of the people residing in this area.
“Given the urgency of the situation, I strongly urge the NDMA and relevant authorities to assess the risk and take swift action,” he noted.
“Your immediate attention and action on this matter are crucial to safeguarding lives and property.”
