In a significant development in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking, 38-year-old Juliet Kamara, the wife of the infamous drug lord Abdul Kamara, widely known as Bigitel of Mamaba Ridge in the Moyiba Community, East end of Freetown, has been apprehended by the Harbour Division Police in a meticulously orchestrated raid targeting drug dealers across the country.
During the operation, law enforcement officials seized a substantial quantity of illicit drugs from Kamara’s residence, further underscoring the magnitude of her alleged involvement in the narcotics trade.
Kamara, who reportedly operates a prominent nightclub complex featuring three swimming pools, a restaurant, guest houses, and ghettos within a sprawling and heavily fortified estate, was arrested alongside two of her sales agents, Mariatu Koroma and Fatmata Bangura. The latter two were reportedly disguised in Islamic abaya attire, adding a layer of intrigue to the unfolding events.
Abdul Kamara, alias “Bigitel,” meanwhile, remains incarcerated at the Pademba Road Correctional Centre/Prisons, facing a litany of drug-related charges.
In a resolute statement following the operation, LUC Kpulun, who spearheaded the crackdown, emphasized the unwavering commitment of law enforcement in combatting drug abuse, particularly the scourge of Kush.
“There is no sacred cow in the fight against drug abuse, particularly Kush. No stone will be left unturned,” asserted Kpulun, underscoring the determination of authorities to root out illicit drug networks.
The apprehension of Juliet Kamara and her associates marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to curb drug trafficking and underscores the relentless pursuit of justice by law enforcement agencies nationwide.
