The Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs (MLGCA) has issued a public notice, informing the general public that the induction of respective Mayors, District Chairpersons, and Councillors of Local Councils will commence on 8th August, 2023, across the country.
The ceremonies will be officiated by the Honourable Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, who also serves as the Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Local Government.
Specific itineraries for the induction events will be shared with all Local Councils and made public, while the program of events will be sent to the Chief Administrators of respective Councils.
This marks an important step in ensuring effective governance and community representation at the local level.
