CAIRO, Egypt, June 28, 2026 – Sierra Leone’s Chief Minister and Chief Innovation Officer, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, has held high-level discussions with the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of the United Nations Global Compact, Sanda Ojiambo, to strengthen collaboration on Africa’s innovation and sustainable development agenda ahead of the Global Africa Business Initiative (GABI) 2026.
The meeting followed the United Nations High-Level Convening on Artificial Intelligence and Human Development in Cairo, where both leaders explored opportunities to deepen partnerships that will promote innovation, responsible artificial intelligence, and inclusive economic growth across the continent.
As part of the discussions, Dr. Sengeh and Ojiambo began shaping two high-level sessions for GABI 2026, focusing on Africa’s innovation potential, sustainable development priorities, investment opportunities, and the role of public-private partnerships in driving long-term economic transformation.
The engagement underscores Sierra Leone’s growing influence in global conversations on artificial intelligence, technology, and inclusive development. It also reflects the country’s commitment to advancing its Big Five Game Changers agenda through strategic international partnerships while contributing to Africa’s broader sustainable development goals.
