FREETOWN, 2nd October, 2026 – The Inspector General of Police, Mr. William Fayia Sellu, has ordered the transfer of thirteen senior and middle-level officers across various police divisions and formations nationwide.
The transfers were announced in Transfer Order No. 246/10/2026 issued on 2nd October 2026 by the Directorate of Human Resource Management at Police Headquarters.
According to the order, signed by the Director of Human Resource Management, AIG Musa James, the affected officers include one Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), two Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), six Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs), three Superintendents of Police (SUPTs) and two Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs).
All the transfers take immediate effect.
The order shows that AIG Francis B. Meinday, Director of Training at Kingtom, has proceeded on medical leave. ACP John F. Tumbay, until now Local Unit Commander (LUC) of Central Division, has been appointed to act as Director of Training.
Several Divisional Commanders were also swapped.
ACP Khrushchev Kargbo moves from Kissy Division to Port Loko Division as LUC, while CSP Alphonso A. Fambulleh moves from Port Loko to Kissy as LUC.
CSP Emmanuel S. Kpulun has been transferred from Kenema to Central Division, CSP John B. Koroma from Masiaka to Harbour Division, CSP Osman I. Kamara from Regional Headquarters North-East to Kenema Division as LUC, and CSP Joshua D. Fayia from Harbour Division to Masiaka Division.
At Superintendent level, Supt. Akim Turay moves from OSD Headquarters to Waterloo Division as Operations Officer, Supt. Edward K. A. Sesay from Harbour Division to Kailahun Division as LUC, and Supt. Thaimu B. Sesay from Kailahun Division to the Police Secretariat at Headquarters.
ASP Sency Koroma and ASP Alim K. Sesay were also transferred between Eastern Division, Daru Division and Regional Headquarters Freetown-East.
The Police say the reshuffle is part of routine administrative deployment aimed at improving efficiency and strengthening command and control across the force.
All affected officers have been instructed to hand over and report to their new stations immediately.
