Popular Sierra Leonean rapper, Alhaji Amadu Bah, famously known as Boss La, finds himself in police custody following a heated altercation with the Mayor of Kenema on Sunday evening.
According to reports from SL News Blog, “LAJ remains in police custody. The circulating claims on social media regarding his release on bail are false.”
A video circulating on social media captured a moment where a police officer attempted to intervene, leading to the apprehension of Boss La’s security officer, who is also detained in a police cell. Additionally, another police officer allegedly involved in the incident has been confined to a police cell.
Meanwhile, it has not yet been confirmed what led to the altercations.
This clash has resulted in the cancellation of a musical event that Boss La was slated to host in the city.
Earlier this year, Boss La was appointed as Sierra Leone’s Peace Ambassador by President Julius Maada Bio, amidst controversy stemming from his release from prison on robbery charges.
