The Sierra Leone Police have taken several individuals into custody, including close friends and colleagues, following the sudden and unexplained death of Delta Officer Joseph Kai Gombu.
According to police reports, the suspects were among those who attended a birthday celebration hosted by the late officer on the night of his passing. What began as a cheerful gathering reportedly turned tragic when Gombu was later found dead under unclear circumstances.
Law enforcement authorities have confirmed that the arrested individuals are currently undergoing interrogation as part of an ongoing investigation to uncover the cause and circumstances surrounding the incident.
The remains of the deceased officer have been taken to the 34 Military Hospital mortuary for an autopsy, which is expected to determine the exact cause of death.
Police say further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
