Rising Arsenal U21 winger Osman Kamara has officially joined the Sierra Leone U20 national team in Egypt, bolstering the Shooting Stars’ lineup ahead of their historic debut at the TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Kamara, who signed his first professional contract with Arsenal in July 2024 following an impressive season with the U18s, arrived in camp alongside fellow international-based players Abraham Kanu (Reading FC) and Kevin Bobson Kargbo (RWD Molenbeek).
Their arrival was facilitated by Sierra Leone National Team Ambassador Christian Dauda, as the team intensifies preparations for their opening match against Zambia on April 27—coinciding with Sierra Leone’s 64th Independence Anniversary.
The inclusion of Kamara, known for his pace and creativity on the left wing, is expected to enhance Sierra Leone’s attacking options as they aim to make a strong impression in their first-ever U-20 AFCON appearance.
The tournament serves as a significant platform for young talents like Kamara to showcase their skills on an international stage.
Sierra Leone secured their spot in the tournament by finishing as runners-up in the WAFU Zone A Championship, demonstrating resilience and tactical maturity throughout the competition.
