Freetown, Sierra Leone – 8 July 2026 — The All Peoples Congress (APC) has officially appointed Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh as its new National Chairman following the passing of the party’s late leader, Alhaji Minkailu Mansaray.
In a public notice issued today, the party stated that the National Advisory Committee (NAC) convened on 1 July 2026 to address the leadership vacancy in accordance with the APC Constitution. At that meeting, Alhaji Yansaneh, who had been serving as Acting National Chairman, was formally sworn in as the substantive National Chairman.
The announcement reads: “Following the sad passing of our late National Chairman, and in keeping with the provisions of the Party Constitution, the National Advisory Committee (NAC)… Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh… was duly sworn in as the National Chairman of the All Peoples Congress (APC) Party.”
The process was carried out under Article 47 of the APC Constitution, which was adopted on 7 March 2022. The party emphasized that the move was intended solely to ensure continuity in leadership and administration.
The notice was signed by Laminata Mumbuya, Esq., National Secretary General of the APC.
This leadership transition comes at a significant time for the party as it looks to maintain stability and prepare for future political engagements.
