Freetown, 21st October 2024 — The National Communications Authority (NatCA) has issued a seven-day ultimatum to Orange Sierra Leone, demanding immediate improvements in service quality following widespread public complaints.
Residents and businesses across Sierra Leone have expressed frustration over frequent network outages, call drops, and delays in restoring services. These issues have significantly impacted both individual users and the business community.
In response, NatCA released a public notice, warning Orange SL that failure to resolve the problems within the next seven days could lead to “strict measures” being enforced.
NatCA stated, “We cannot allow the ongoing disruptions to persist. The public deserves reliable service, and we will not hesitate to act under the provisions of the NatCA Act if necessary.”
The notice further emphasized NatCA’s commitment to ensuring better communication services for consumers.
“We are taking steps to improve service standards and hold providers accountable for their performance,” the statement concluded.
Orange SL is expected to respond to the ultimatum in the coming days.
