Freetown, Sierra Leone – The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, in collaboration with the National Tourist Board, has issued a stern warning to StarZee Beach Bar amd several beachfront businesses, threatening immediate closure due to non-compliance with operational requirements.
In a press release issued yesterday, the Ministry stated that multiple establishments along Lumley Beach and Aberdeen have failed to pay their required beachfront fees for the years 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024, despite repeated invoices and reminders.
“Consequently, we hereby announce that these defaulters are required to cease all operations immediately,” the statement declared, emphasizing the importance of regulatory adherence for the integrity and sustainability of Sierra Leone’s tourism sector.
While acknowledging and appreciating the cooperation of compliant businesses, the Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a fair and transparent environment within the industry.
StarZee Beach Bar which is reportedly owned by Sierra Leone’s female rapper Star Zee is among the businesses that have been named as defaulters and face immediate action. See full list below:
