Head Coach of Leone Stars Amidu Karim has said that his squad will not underrate any team in their march towards global grace.
As Sierra Leone faces Djibouti in less than a week, Coach Karim said he selected the Leone Stars squad based on performance and that he has studied the players of Djibouti and Burkina Faso.
“We are going to apply our normal attacking football,” he added.
Since he named the Leone Stars squad for the matches ahead, there have been identified sparks of squabbling, questions and self-styled sentiments on why certain picks were made and why certain players were dropped.
Earlier, Coach Karim justified his pick at Steven Caulker, citing experience.
Meanwhile, Sierra Leone will face Djibouti for the first time on June 5, 2024 at the El Abdi Stadium in El Jadiba, Morocco before taking on Burkina Faso on June 10, 2024 at the de 26 Mars Stadium in Bamako Mali.
On the Burkina Faso front, Sierra Leone has an edge. In their first engagement, both countries met at the 1996 Nations Cup in South Africa. It was Coach Amidu Karim who assisted Mohamed Kallon to score a goal in that continental appearance.
