President Julius Maada Bio has disclosed in several occasions that, his travels are always yielded dividend and brings Lauren to Sierra Leone.
He said during his travels he has attracted several investment as well as bring employment opportunities in the country.
Bio’s travels has saved millions of dollars investment into the country including the Lungi International Airport and many investment.
In the contrary, the vibrant Civil Society Activist in Sierra Leone, Musa Jalloh aka Jmus has raised serious concern over President Julius Maada Bio Frequent travels abroad.
He cited that President Bio has visited China, the UAE, Nigeria, Senegal, the united states, France and south Korea within short period.
Musa Jalloh said the people of Sierra Leone are deeply frustrated over President Bio’s extensive travels, especially amidst the economic challenges the country faced.
Jmus said the suffering masses expresses their discontent over the frequency of president Bio’s foreign trips amidst kush which is killing the youths of Sierra Leone.
The CSO said, according to section 5, subsection 2 b of the constitution of Sierra Leone 1991, the security, peace, and welfare of the people of Sierra Leone should be the primary focus and responsibility of the government.
However, he said, it appears that the government of President Julius Maada Bio is neglecting its duty to prioritize the welfare of the people than travelling.
He maintained that President Bio’s numerous travels, even during the COVID-19 pandemic, including his recent trip, raise concerns about his commitment to addressing the pressing issues facing the nation.
“It’s worth noting that President Bio’s has traveled more frequently than any other President in sierra Leone’s history” he lamented.
He stated that a responsible government should heed to the concerns of it’s citizens, yet it seems that the New Direction government is not listen to the plight of the people of Sierra Leone.
He opined that many citizens are enduring significant hardships, and President Bio’s promises to alleviate their suffering have fallen short.
“First ever in the history of this country guinea currency is more value than ours and our President is busy creating unnecessary ministries and agencies making the wage bill become so bloated” JMus said.
Musa Jalloh revealed that President Bio promised to end suffering in the country while he said he is wasting taxpayers money on travels.
The massive corruption in the Paopa government is another bordering issue he raised.
