Monrovia, Liberia — Leone Stars Head Coach Amidu Karim believes that victories against Chad and Zambia are crucial for Sierra Leone’s progress in the 2025 AFCON TotalEnergies Qualifiers.
Speaking during the team’s first training session in Monrovia on Monday, Karim emphasized the importance of securing wins in the upcoming matches.
“Our path in the qualifiers will be clearer if we win both matches. With two teams advancing from each group, it’s our duty to qualify for the 2025 AFCON,” said Coach Karim.
He urged Sierra Leoneans to support the national team, expressing confidence in their potential to achieve the desired results.
“Victory is assured with your support,” he added.
The Leone Stars, currently based at Hotel Boulevard, are set to face Chad on Friday at the Samuel K. Doe Stadium before traveling to Zambia for a crucial away match on September 10.
Training sessions will continue tomorrow as more professional players join the squad.
