Reports indicate that Joy Precious Baryoh, who was arrested and detained by Sierra Leone police yesterday, has been granted bail after spending the night in custody.
Joy Baryoh, a lawyer and a recent candidate for the treasurer position in Sierra Leone Bar Association elections, was detained on allegations of cyber stalking and bullying following the her reply to a tweet from President Julius Maada Bio.
Her arrest has sparked widespread concern and calls for her release, highlighting issues related to freedom of speech and the treatment of legal professionals.
She was represented by Lawyers Madieu Sesay and Jocelyn Turay.
