Mile 38, Sierra Leone – January 20, 2026 — A man has been arrested at the Mile 38 checkpoint following the seizure of twenty parcels of substances suspected to be illegal drugs.
The arrest was made after security officers stopped a vehicle with a TVR registration number during routine checks.
A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered the suspected drugs, leading to the immediate detention of the driver.
Police identified the suspect as Foday Alie Conteh, a resident of No. 1 Lungi Road, Port Loko. He is currently in custody and assisting investigators as efforts continue to determine the source and intended destination of the seized substances.
