The All People’s Congress (APC) has announced a new schedule of nomination fees for its internal elections, a move that will apply to contests at all levels of the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Under the newly gazetted regulations, aspirants seeking the party’s presidential flagbearer position will be required to pay a nomination fee of NLe100,000, making it the highest fee within the party’s internal electoral framework.
The flagbearer will be elected by delegates at the National Delegates Conference in line with the party’s rules.
The APC has also set fees for other senior leadership positions. Candidates contesting for the position of National Chairman will pay NLe20,000, while those vying for Deputy National Chairman will be required to pay NLe15,000.
Lower nomination fees have been introduced for positions at the regional, district, constituency and ward levels, reflecting the party’s intention to standardise its internal elections while keeping grassroots participation accessible.
The new fee structure forms part of broader internal election regulations that have been endorsed by the Political Parties Regulation Commission (PPRC) and approved by the APC’s National Advisory Committee.
Party officials say the measures are aimed at promoting order, transparency and consistency in the conduct of internal elections across the party.
