Sierra Leone’s Bo Rangers and East End are gearing up to face West African opponents in the upcoming CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup respectively, this August.
In the CAF Champions League, Bo Rangers, the Sierra Leone champions, will clash with Ivorian side San Pedro in the preliminary round of the 2024/2025 season.
The first leg is scheduled between August 16th and 18th, with the return leg in Ivory Coast the following weekend.
Guided by Coach John Keister, Bo Rangers are determined to maintain their winning momentum and progress to the group stages of Africa’s premier inter-club competition.
Should they triumph over San Pedro, they will face the winner of the Al Hilal (Sudan) versus Libya 2 matchup in the second round, set for September.
Last season, Bo Rangers were eliminated in the second round by Algeria’s CR Belouizdad, with a 6-2 aggregate score.
Meanwhile, in the CAF Confederation Cup, East End Lions will take on Senegal’s ASC Jaraaf in the preliminary stage.
The Killers will host the first leg between August 16th and 18th, before traveling to Senegal for the return fixture.
The winner of this tie will face either Union Touarga Sportif (UTS) or Racing Club d’Abidjan in the second-round qualifiers.
The CAF Interclub competitions are steadily gaining prominence in African football, attracting larger global TV audiences due to the rising quality of the matches. Last season, Al Ahly SC extended their record with a 12th TotalEnergies CAF Champions League title, while Zamalek clinched the CAF Confederation Cup for the second time.
