The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has officially issued a wanted notice for Dankey Koroma, the daughter of former President of Sierra Leone, Ernest Bai Koroma and other individuals responsible for the failed coup attempt on November 26, 2023.
Her name was include among update list of individuals declared wanted by the state for last month’s security breach which led to the death of 18 security forces.
The notice, released today with photos of the individuals involved, states, “The Sierra Leone Police is looking for these fugitives IF SEEN PLEASE CONTACT 1) CID HEADQUARTERS, PADEMBA ROAD FREETOWN, 2) THE NEAREST POLICE STATION OR 3) CALL ANY OF THE FOLLOWING NUMBERS: 900 OR 119.”
The notice assures a “handsome reward” for anyone providing useful information leading to the arrest of the suspects.
It’s worth recalling that the Sierra Leone Police summoned the former President on 7th December, 2023, to report to the headquarters of the Criminal Investigations Department within 24 hours for questioning regarding the failed attempted coup on November 26, 2023.
Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, on Saturday confirmed that the former President was granted bail on self-recognizance with specific conditions after questioning by the Sierra Leone Police. President Koroma’s bail conditions include staying within his property at Goderich, limited visiting guests, and explicit permission required to leave his house.
