Freetown, June 16, 2025 — Air Sierra Leone has officially commenced full commercial operations on its much-anticipated Freetown–London route, marking a major milestone for the country’s aviation and tourism sectors.
The inaugural flight is scheduled to take off from Gatwick International Airport at 11:00 p.m. (local time) tonight and is expected to touch down at Freetown International Airport by 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17. The return leg will depart Freetown the same day at 10:45 a.m., with an estimated arrival at Gatwick by 5:45 p.m.
The route will be operated by a state-of-the-art Boeing 737-8 Max aircraft, offering 189 seats and a comfortable travel experience for both business and leisure passengers.
