Freetown, Sierra Leone – Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh on Monday 16th June 2025, launched Sierra Leone’s Country Economic Memorandum (CEM) and Country Climate and Development Report (CCDR), urging immediate policy reforms to address economic and climate challenges.
Speaking at the Radisson Blu Mammy Yoko Hotel, Dr. Jalloh highlighted the reports as critical tools for national development, developed in collaboration with the World Bank and partners. He warned that without climate action, Sierra Leone’s GDP could shrink by 10% by 2050, stressing investments in green energy, climate-smart agriculture, and social protection.
The Vice President also emphasized restoring macroeconomic stability and boosting private sector growth through the CEM’s recommendations. He pledged to present the findings to Cabinet and engage nationwide consultations, declaring, “These are our reports—we will use them to drive progress.”
