Freetown, 5th November, 2026 — Head Coach Didier Gomes Da Rosa has named a 25-man squad for Sierra Leone’s crucial 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against DR Congo.
The squad, published by the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), comes ahead of Matchdays 3 and 4 in Group E, which also includes Zimbabwe and Equatorial Guinea.
According to the SLFA, Coach Da Rosa will formally unveil the squad at a media briefing today at 3pm at the SLFA conference hall in Kingtom, Freetown.
The full squad:
GOALKEEPERS: Mamadou Jalloh (VPS Vaasan – Finland), Francis Koroma (Katsina United – Nigeria), Ibrahim Sesay (Alashkert FC – Armenia)
DEFENDERS: Abdulai Juma Bah (Augsburg FC – Germany), Emmanuel Samadia (Hartford FC – USA), Alpha Turay (EL Gouna – Egypt), Sallieu Tarawallie (FC Kallon – Sierra Leone), MJ Kamson-Kamara (Kilmarnock FC – Scotland), Osman Kakay (Kosice FC – Slovakia), Mohamed Fofanah (East End Lions – Sierra Leone)
MIDFIELDERS: Saidu Bah Kamara (Commercial Bank – Ethiopia), Tyrese Fornah (Northampton FC – England), Samuel Bekoe (Hafia FC – Guinea), Ibrahim Turay (Stjarnan FC – Iceland), Saidu Fofanah (Wolaitta Dicha – Ethiopia), Momoh I. Kamara (Elfsborg IF – Sweden), Ra’ees Bangura Williams (Cambridge United – England)
FORWARDS: Santigie Yusuf Sesay (Arsenal Tivat – Montenegro), Alhassan Koroma (Baniyas – UAE), Daniel Kanu (Notts County – England), Malachi Jones (New York City – USA), Sullay Kaikai (Cambridge United – England), Augustus Kargbo (Blackburn Rovers – England), Idris Kanu (Barnet – England), Alie Conteh (Inter Turku FC – Finland)

Fixtures:
– First Leg: DR Congo vs Sierra Leone – Thursday, 12 November 2026, Kickoff: 4:00 PM at Stade des Martyrs, Kinshasa, DR Congo
– Second Leg: Sierra Leone vs DR Congo – Tuesday, 17 November 2026, Kickoff: 4:00 PM at Stade Larbi Zaouli, Casablanca, Morocco
The double-header is critical for Sierra Leone, who sit bottom of Group E after losing their opening two qualifiers — 2-1 to Zimbabwe and 1-0 to Equatorial Guinea in September. DR Congo currently lead the group with six points from two games.
The home fixture will again be played in Morocco because the National Stadium in Freetown remains unapproved by CAF for international matches. The SLFA had tried to secure Guinea or Liberia as a closer alternative, but scheduling conflicts forced the return to Morocco.
The top two teams in the group will qualify for the 2027 AFCON finals, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda from 19 June to 17 July 2027.
