Kenema, September 30, 2023 – In a remarkable display of civic responsibility, the 2nd Infantry Brigade, in collaboration with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and enthusiastic youth groups, successfully concluded a comprehensive cleaning operation at the Kenema government hospital on Saturday, September 30, 2023.
Brigade Commander Col. Alimamy Osman Kamara, speaking about the initiative, emphasized its crucial role in safeguarding public health and augmenting the government’s ongoing efforts to create a secure and healthy society for all citizens.
Col. Kamara conveyed the Brigade’s commitment to sustaining these cleanup efforts not only at the hospital but also throughout the Kenema municipality and its surrounding areas.
Of particular concern to Col. Kamara was the hazardous practice of open burning of medical waste within the hospital premises, posing a significant threat to community health.
He expressed a strong desire to collaborate with the hospital management to put an end to this dangerous practice and ensure a safer and cleaner environment for the local community.
