Tension gripped Koidu City on Tuesday as dozens of women took to the streets in a peaceful demonstration following the death of a two-year-old child in the community.
Carrying placards and chanting for justice, the protesters marched toward the Tankoro Police Division, where the main suspect in the case is currently being held.
The women called on law enforcement authorities to act swiftly, ensure transparency in the investigation, and deliver justice for the deceased child.
The demonstration remained largely calm, though emotions ran high as residents expressed outrage and sorrow over the tragic incident.
Many described the loss as heartbreaking and urged authorities to handle the matter with urgency.
Security personnel were deployed in the area to monitor the situation and prevent any potential unrest.
Police officials have yet to issue a detailed public statement but assured residents that investigations are ongoing.
The community continues to mourn, united in its demand for accountability and justice for the young victim, under the rallying call: “Justice for Messie.”
