Yesterday evening, the Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion (ICPNC) unveiled the final communique resulting from the post-election peace dialogue.
Notable points from the report include an upcoming national address by the President on dialogue, unity, and peace, and the significant decision by the main opposition, the All People’s Congress (APC), to end its non-participation in governance.
The report also outlines the establishment of a cross-party committee on electoral system and leadership bodies review, to be constituted by the President in consultation with the APC. Additionally, the release of individuals who have been arrested, detained, or imprisoned for alleged election-related or civil protest activities will be based on a list to be submitted by the APC and considered by the government of Sierra Leone.
