The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has confirmed that it has completed the payment of prize monies owed to clubs for the 2023/2024 Sierra Leone Premier League season.
In a statement released on Monday in Freetown, the SLFA announced that Bo Rangers, winners of last season’s league title, have received Le 500,000. Bhantal FC, who finished in second place, have also been paid their prize amount of Le 250,000.
The association acknowledged the patience shown by both clubs during the delay and reiterated its commitment to improving football administration and financial accountability across the sport.
The statement, issued by SLFA Head of Media and Marketing Ibrahim Kamara, noted that the settlement marks another step toward enhancing trust and cooperation among football stakeholders.
With the payments now finalized, supporters and club officials are hopeful that future prize disbursements will be made more promptly as the SLFA continues reforms within the country’s football management system.
