Freetown, Sierra Leone – The Sierra Leone Police have arrested six individuals as part of an ongoing investigation into the tragic deaths of two nursery pupils from the National Pentecostal Pre-Preparatory School.
According to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mohamed Bobson Senu, Deputy Head of Media for the Sierra Leone Police, those detained include teachers and school administrators.
Authorities believe their cooperation could aid in uncovering the circumstances surrounding the children’s deaths.
ASP Senu further disclosed that a young girl, who was found alongside the deceased boys, is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital. Meanwhile, a postmortem examination is being conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
The police have assured the public of a thorough investigation as they seek justice for the victims and their families.
On Wednesday the National Pentecostal Mission issued a statement, expressing shock to notice the tragic loss of two beloved nursery pupils.
“This devastating incident, which occurred in the late hours of Tuesday, March 18, 2025, has left our entire Church family in complete shock and disbelief,” the Mission stated.
The Mission further assured the general public that the matter is currently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), and the Church is fully cooperating with the authorities to ensure that all necessary inquiries are conducted swiftly and justly.
“As we await the outcome of the investigation, we urge every member of the Church and the wider community to remain calm, patient, and united in prayers. We also encourage all to refrain from speculation, avoid making comments on social media and allow the law enforcement agencies to do their work,” they added.
