The Sierra Leone U-15 national football team will not participate in the much-anticipated WAFU U-15 tournament, set to kick off tomorrow in Senegal, due to unforeseen passport challenges.
Alusine Kabba, the Event and Protocol Officer at the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), explained the situation, stating, “The team was unable to represent the nation due to a delay in passport processing. The immigration office faced a technical problem that prevented the issuance of the players’ passports for the past 18 days.”
After a rigorous two-month training camp, the team and technical staff have disbanded and returned to their respective clubs.
This development comes as a major disappointment for the young players, who had been preparing extensively for this opportunity to showcase their talent on an international platform and represent their country.
