In the aftermath of the security breach on Sunday, November 26, 2023, the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) has officially issued a wanted notice for the individuals responsible.
The notice, released on Monday with photos of the individualsinvolved, states, “ADDRESS(S): UNKNOWN; OFFENCE: FUGITIVE.”
The SLP is urging citizens to report any sightings to CID Headquarters, Pademba Road, Freetown, the nearest police station, or through specified contact numbers: +23288892360, +23276682916, +23277361070, 900, or 119, with additional options at +23276692830 or +23276647061.
The notice assures a “handsome reward” for anyone providing useful information leading to the arrest of the suspects.
In a separate public notice, the Sierra Leone Police is calling on unlawfully released prisoners or suspects to surrender at the nearest police station. Those who fail to comply may face potential arrest and prosecution for “Escape from Lawful Custody.”
To expedite the capture and prosecution of the assailants, the SLP has announced a significant reward of Fifty Thousand New Leones (50,000 NLe) for information leading to their arrest. Furthermore, an additional reward of Ten Thousand New Leones (10,000 NLe) is offered for the apprehension of unlawfully released prisoners or suspects.
The SLP seeks collaboration from the public, encouraging individuals with pertinent information to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.
