The President of Sierra Leone’s Paralympic Committee, Unisa Deen Kargbo, has dismissed recent reports about a single-leg athlete allegedly attempting to flee to Paris.
Kargbo clarified that the athlete in question is not part of the Sierra Leonean delegation currently in Paris.
Initial reports claimed that Paralympian Abubakarr Jalloh, representing SLASA Makeni, had gone missing for five hours in Paris and was seen boarding a metro to another city.
According to these reports, the police had detained him and were preparing for his deportation.
Kargbo emphasized that these accounts are false and have caused unnecessary confusion.
He noted that the committee is focused on ensuring the well-being and proper representation of all its athletes.
