The Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) has announced an extension for its 2025 recruitment drive application deadline.
Applicants now have until Saturday, January 25, 2025, to submit their letters and supporting documents.
This decision ensures prospective candidates have adequate time to secure essential documents, such as their National Identification Cards, required for the recruitment process.
Last week, the RSLAF officially launched the drive to strengthen its Army, Navy, and Air Force with opportunities for Officer Cadets, Specialists, Trades, and Non-Tradesmen and Women.
Key Details of the Recruitment
The recruitment aims to attract skilled, disciplined, and patriotic individuals to enhance national defense capabilities. Eligible Sierra Leoneans can apply for various positions based on the following criteria:
– Citizenship: Must be Sierra Leonean by birth.
– Identification: Possession of a National Identification Number (NIN).
– Age Range: 18 to 25 years old.
– Health Standards: Medically, physically, and psychologically fit.
– Height Requirements: 1.68m (5’5”) for males and 1.62m (5’3”) for females.
– Educational and Professional Requirements: Undergraduate degree for specialists and minimum literacy or five years of trade experience for trades positions.
Specialist applicants must have at least five years of professional experience, with membership in a credible professional body serving as an added advantage.

Handwritten applications with supporting documents must be submitted to regional Brigade Commanders at the following locations:
– Northern Region: 4 Infantry Brigade, TEKO Barracks, Makeni
– Eastern Region: 2 Infantry Brigade, Reservation, Kenema
– Southern Region: 5 Infantry Brigade, GONDAMA Barracks, Bo
– Western Region: 3 Infantry Brigade, MURRAY Town Barracks, Freetown
– North-Western Region: 15 Infantry Battalion, LUNGI Barracks, Lungi
Applicants must include their birth certificates, educational qualifications, National ID cards, and stamped reference letters from community leaders.
Specialist and Trade Opportunities
The RSLAF is seeking specialists in areas such as medicine, engineering, ICT, media, and fitness training. Skilled tradesmen like mechanics, electricians, and carpenters are also in demand.
