Freetown, Sierra Leone – January 30, 2026 – The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) is preparing to officially open its new Regional Police Headquarters for Freetown East today, representing a significant advancement in the nation’s law enforcement infrastructure.
The state-of-the-art facility highlights the dedicated leadership and forward-thinking approach of Inspector General of Police, Mr. William Fayia Sellu, who has prioritized modernizing the SLP to improve public safety and operational efficiency.
Work on the headquarters commenced several years ago during Mr. Sellu’s tenure as Chief Superintendent of Police.
The project has been brought to fruition through persistent efforts, partnerships with local communities, and backing from the government. The completed building will be formally presented to the residents of Freetown East in a ceremony scheduled for this Friday, January 30, 2026.
