Police Arrest Woman with 980 Wraps of Suspected Cannabis in Freetown

Freetown, Sierra Leone — Officers from the Ross Road Police Division have arrested a 35-year-old woman, Marie Bangura, on suspicion of possessing a large quantity of cannabis sativa.

 

During a targeted operation, police reportedly discovered 980 individually wrapped packets of the suspected illegal substance in her possession.

Bangura is currently being held in custody along with the seized exhibits, as authorities continue their investigation into the matter.

The arrest comes amid ongoing efforts by Sierra Leone Police to combat drug trafficking and possession in the capital.
