Freetown, Sierra Leone — The Sierra Leone Police have reported significant breakthroughs in the fight against drug trafficking and illegal firearms following a series of coordinated operations carried out between 21 and 26 November 2025.
During the SLP’s weekly conference held at Police Headquarters in Freetown, the Transnational Organized Crime Unit (TOCU) detailed multiple arrests and substantial seizures made in Kabala, Sugar Land, and the wider Goderich area.
Kabala Raids Yield Large Quantities of Drugs
In Kabala, TOCU officers apprehended three suspects — Mamadou Juma Sow, Alhaji Marrah, and Moses Lemoh. The operation resulted in the confiscation of:
* Several grosses of tablets labeled Taramaking 250mg and Tapentadol 250mg
* Large assortments of suspected Tramadol
* 84 grosses of Gold Seal Filter Cigarettes
Police confirmed that all items are currently undergoing forensic testing.
Firearm and Drugs Recovered at Sugar Land
A separate search at Sugar Land, Goderich led to the discovery of four black plastic bags filled with shredded leaves and a 9mm Italian-made pistol bearing Serial No. 27017. No arrests were immediately reported in connection with this discovery.
Three Arrested in Goderich Following Major Kush Seizure
On 26 November, a targeted operation in Goderich led to the arrest of Abdul Rahman Sesay, Yusif Sesay, and David Momoh. Officers seized:
* 135 packets of shredded leaves suspected to be Kush, stored in three rubber drums
* Additional loose quantities of the suspected substance
According to TOCU Head, D/CSP Michael J. K. Laggah, all seized exhibits have been submitted for forensic analysis as investigations progress.
Police leadership reiterated their commitment to dismantling drug networks and combating organized crime, stressing that these operations form part of ongoing nationwide enforcement efforts.
