In a significant development, the Parliamentary Commission convened on Thursday, 04 January 2024, to address concerns surrounding redundancy within Parliament.
A Five-man Committee, comprised of key figures such as the Hon. Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Majority Leader, Leader of Government Business, Leader of the Opposition, and the Hon. Clerk of Parliament, has been formed to thoroughly investigate and provide recommendations within two weeks.
During the meeting, the Clerk of Parliament addressed inquiries regarding his wife’s inclusion on the parliamentary payroll. In response, he has called for the establishment of a special committee to independently examine this matter and submit a detailed report to the Parliamentary Commission.
