Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League Champions Mogbwemo Queens bow out of the CAF Champions League after a 2-1 loss to Determine Girls from Liberia at the SKD Sports Complex.
Mogbwemo needed a win at all costs to boost their chances of qualifying after their second match in the competition against AS Mande of Mali ended in a goalless draw.
Before that Mogbwemo Queens lost their opener against AS Dakar on Monday, August 7, 2023.
The Rutile-based club failed to build on their impressive performance in the Sierra Leone Women’s Premier League to advance in the tournament and guarantee their place in the next stage.
The regional qualifying tournaments determine which teams progress to the second edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League. Group winners from each region will secure their spots in the group stage of the main competition.
