In a press release issued on Saturday, August 12th, 2023, Rokel Commercial Bank vehemently denied allegations made in a circulating social media video depicting individuals displaying bundles of purportedly incomplete bank notes.
The bank scrutinized the video and dismissed its contents as baseless and fabricated, designed to tarnish the reputation of the bank’s dedicated and skilled cashiers.
The management of Rokel Commercial Bank further emphasized that the video was likely part of a larger scheme orchestrated by individuals or groups with ulterior motives, aimed at damaging the bank’s hard-earned standing.
Notably, the bank questioned the authenticity of the video, highlighting that if the individuals in question had genuine concerns, their initial course of action should have been to report the issue directly to the bank rather than resorting to social media.
Additionally, the bank reminded the public of a previous video that falsely claimed the withdrawals were from ECOBANK, despite being wrapped in RCBank-branded packaging. The press release suggested that this subsequent video was an attempt to rectify the earlier mistake and perpetuate a negative image of Rokel Commercial Bank.
Rokel Commercial Bank declared its intention to collaborate with the Sierra Leone Police in identifying and pursuing legal actions against the individuals responsible for the video.
The bank urged its valued customers and the public at large to dismiss the video as a baseless, malicious, and anonymous effort to undermine the bank’s credibility.
