The Government of Sierra Leone, through the Ministry of Works and Public Assets (MoWPA) in collaboration with the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA), has officially launched the Mano Junction to Tongo Bumpeh Road Project.
The 85-kilometer road construction is being undertaken by Société Djura Maritec Construction SL Ltd. and is set to significantly improve infrastructure and regional connectivity.
The launch ceremony, held at the Ministry’s conference hall in New England Ville, Freetown, attracted senior government officials, development partners, and other key stakeholders.
Among the distinguished guests was Mr. Charles Mambu, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Infrastructure 4 Development (I4D–SL), whose institution plays a vital advisory role in Sierra Leone’s infrastructure planning and implementation.
Upon completion, the road is expected to ease transportation for thousands of residents and traders, stimulate economic activities across Mano, Tongo, and Bumpeh communities, and reinforce government’s development agenda focused on expanding infrastructure nationwide.
The project marks another step towards improving mobility, trade, and access to opportunities for citizens in the region.
